Pasadena police are searching for a couple suspected of holding a baby hostage while forcing his mother to withdraw cash and turn over jewelry to them.Police Lt. Chris Russ says the victims were near a park Saturday morning when they were approached by the pair who appeared to be in their 60s. One of the assailants grabbed the 25-year-old mother by the arm and forced her and the baby into a red sports utility vehicle.The suspects drove to an ATM machine and forced the woman to withdraw cash, then took her to a home where they kept the baby in the car while she went inside to get jewelry. The pair freed the baby and drove away after they received the jewelry.
Russ said Sunday there was no indication the suspects were armed. He said the young mother complied because she feared for the safety of her child.
